The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Collector's Edition will reportedly be the final Muscle Car

Chevrolet seems content to let the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro fade into dead wood until it disappears in a few years.

But there may be one last hope for enthusiasts: the YouTube channel LethalGarage reported that a Heritage Edition will arrive before the Camaro's sun sets, Muscle Cars & Trucks (MC&T) has learned, that Chevrolet may release a 2024 Camaro Collector's Edition.

Chevrolet spokesman Trevor Tompkins told Motor Authority that he could not speculate on future products and that the automaker has nothing to announce at this time.

MC&T reported that the 2024 Camaro Collector's Edition will go on sale in 2023 and will be the last send-off for the nameplate; MC&T said the special edition Camaro, limited to 2,000 units, will feature stripes, carbon fiber body bits, unique badging and bodywork. Pricing is unknown, but MC&T says the package will be available on the LT, SS, and ZL1 models. Interestingly, the collector's edition may only be available in yellow as a tribute to the "Transformers" Bumblebee Camaro that kicked off the fifth-generation Camaro's revival in 2010.

In December, Australia's Wheels reported that the sixth-generation Camaro might last until 2026, but with GM's shift to electrification, that seems to be no longer the case: the 2022 Camaro loses several models, the turbo four is eliminated, the V-6 gets a 1LE package to focus on the V-8, and in August, Motor Trend reported that the 2023 Camaro ZL1 may get a power boost thanks to the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.

In July 2019, MC&T reported that the Z/28 variant of the sixth-generation Camaro disappeared before it was realized. Last Tuesday, a rendering of the sixth-generation Camaro with aggressive aerodynamics, including a large rear wing, was posted on General Motors Design's Instagram account. This design has never been shown before and has never been seen on a Camaro before. The front aero design is in line with that of the upcoming 2023 Corvette Z06. This design may be what was supposed to be the Z/28.

The Camaro could be replaced by an electric performance sedan; GM could also revive the Camaro as a two-door sports car on a new electric platform with a Uritam Drive powertrain.
