Bertone returns with GB110 Supercar

The revival of legendary Italian design house Stile Bertone, which went bankrupt in 2014, is underway. The revival will begin with a supercar called the GB110.

Only 33 cars are planned, and according to the new Bertone, the car will run on fuel produced from waste plastic. The fuel will be supplied by a company called Select Fuel, which apparently relies on a process called pyrolysis, in which plastic is heated and combined with certain additives.

Bertone has not revealed details about the engine size or configuration, but the GB110 will have a maximum output of about 1,100 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque. It will also feature a 7-speed transmission and all-wheel drive.

Performance is estimated at 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-124 mph in 6.8 seconds, and a top speed of 236 mph.

Although not confirmed, the GB110's platform was likely appropriated from the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan twins. The proportions and shape of the greenhouse seem particularly consistent with the Huracan.

Other exterior designs are said to be inspired by the classic Bertone; the 1970 Stratos HF Zero and the 2012 Nuccio concept car come to mind. The GB110 will also feature 21-inch front and 22-inch rear forged alloy wheels.

Inside, the driver-focused dashboard will feature a digital instrument cluster combined with multiple physical controls. There will also be a digital screen on the passenger side that will display several gauges.

Deliveries are expected to begin in spring 2024. Bertone plans to add a limited edition model to follow the GB110 after that.
