2025 Dodge Charger, 2025 Infiniti QX80, "Days of Thunder" racing car: the Week in Reverse

Testing begins on the successor to the Dodge Charger, the 2025 Infiniti QX80 hits the road, and the "Days of Thunder" race car is spotted. This is the Motor Authority's "Week in Reverse" for the week.

Less than a week after Dodge teased the successors to the Dodge Charger and Challenger, a prototype ran nearly unequipped down I-75 in Michigan. Caught on camera by Instagram user Hellrango_nic, the production vehicle looked almost identical to the Charger Daytona SRT concept unveiled in 2022.

The Ford F-150 Lighting Switchgear debuted as a one-off Raptorized Lightning. Ford showed off this concept truck flying through the air and tearing through the earth. Its custom widebody is packed with 37-inch all-terrain tires, Fox 3.0-inch-diameter internal bypass shocks, and other custom suspension.

A camouflage-covered 2025 Infiniti QX80 hit the road. The upcoming flagship luxury SUV resembled the QX Monograph Concept, which was unveiled at last summer's Monterey Car Week.

We drove the 2024 Acura TLX Type S and found it prided itself on being a sleeper. While not quite as good a bargain as the base TLX, the Type S is a star performer that can't be counted on for track stardom, but is a willing cruiser.

Two stunt cars allegedly used in the 1990 NASCAR film Days Of Thunder were found rotting in the woods, one in the livery of Russ Wheeler's Hardee's, played by Cary Elwes, and the other in Tom Cruise Cole Trickle's Mello Yello livery and number 51, played by Tom Cruise.
