2025 Acura ADX entry-level crossover coming early next year

Acura announced this week that it will expand its lineup with a crossover smaller than the RDX early next year.

The new model will be badged ADX and will likely arrive in the U.S. as a 2025 model.

No details were given other than that it will be an entry-level model for the Acura brand alongside the Integra compact hatchback.

Acura previously offered a crossover smaller than the RDX but did not sell it in the US. The automaker considered bringing the CDX to the U.S., but ultimately decided against it due to the vehicle's smaller size.

The CDX is a cousin of its predecessor, the Honda HR-V subcompact crossover. The redesigned HR-V, which shares its platform with the compact Civic and Integra, will be launched in the U.S. for the 2023 model year and will likely serve as the basis for the ADX.

The latest HR-V is 179.8 inches long, 7.6 inches smaller than the RDX. The engine is a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder with 158 horsepower. This engine is paired with a CVT, which turns the front wheels as standard and all four wheels in the available all-wheel drive system.

With the introduction of the ADX, Acura will have four crossovers in its lineup. The electric ZDX will arrive for the 2024 model year, while the RDX and MDX will be updated; the MDX update is for the 2025 model year and was unveiled this week. It adds styling tweaks, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, more advanced electronic driver assistance features, and a significantly improved user interface that includes a touch-screen display instead of a traditional touchpad.
