2025 Defender, a high-performance off-roader with even more luxury

Defender welcomes the 2025 model year with few changes.

For the new model year, packages will be available that group many popular individual options. Some of the new packs will enhance driving quality, some will improve cold weather and towing capabilities, and some will increase comfort.

For example, there is an off-road pack that includes an electronically controlled active differential, roof rack, all-terrain tires, and wade sensor capability. To this can be added the Advanced Off-Road Pack, which adds air suspension, off-road driving modes, etc.

For the interior, there are packs like the Comfort and Convenience Pack, which adds ambient lighting, a premium Meridian audio system, and a front console refrigerator. The Premium Upgrade Interior Pack adds leather trim and 14-way heated and cooled front seats with memory functionality.

Buyers of the Stretch Defender 130 will be able to choose captain's chairs for the first time, which provide easy access to the third row. The captain's chairs are equipped with heating and cooling functions and separate armrests.

Defenders may also order a protective film with a matte finish.

The powertrain remains unchanged. Depending on the grade, customers can choose from a 2.0-liter turbo four with maximum output of 296 hp, a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged mild hybrid with maximum output of 395 hp, or a 5.0-liter V-8 supercharger with maximum output of 493 or 518 hp. For buyers seeking the ultimate in performance, JLR will unveil the new Defender Octa grade on July 3. This will be a hardcore offering with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that will likely spit out more than 600 horsepower.

Pricing for the 2025 Defender starts at $58,375 for the two-door Defender 90, $62,275 for the four-door Defender 110, and $71,175 for the stretched Defender 130. All include a $1,475 destination charge.
