2025 VW Golf R, 2025 BMW M2: Today's Automotive News
Volkswagen announced updates to its Golf series earlier this year, but the high-performance Golf R has yet to debut. It will be unveiled soon and will go on sale along with the Golf GTI in the U.S. in early 2025.
BMW's 2 Series has also been updated, including the M2 variant. While the regular coupe received only a slight tweak, the M2 received a 20 hp increase, bringing the total output to 473 hp. This is about the same output as the base M3.
Japan's Aspark has unveiled a new version of its "Owl" electric hypercar, dubbed the Owl SP600, which is still in prototype stage, but tests have shown that it can reach a top speed of 272.6 mph. This is a record for a production EV, and customer models of the Owl SP600 will be able to achieve the same performance.
