2026 Honda Passport Trail Sport preview, debut early 2025.
The Honda Passport will be redesigned for the 2026 model year and, like its predecessor, will feature a rugged TrailSport model.
Honda released teaser photos of the 2026 Passport TrailSport on Tuesday, confirming that its debut will occur alongside the debut of the regular 2026 Passport in early 2025.
Sales of both models will begin later that year.
Honda describes the 2026 Passport Trail Sport as the brand's most capable SUV. In one of the teaser photos, the front grille with the words “PASSPORT” and the TrailSport badge can be clearly seen. This photo also shows the amber-colored daytime running lights that Honda has announced are exclusive to the TrailSport.
The current Passport was introduced for the 2019 model year, while the TrailSport was introduced for the 2022 model year.
It is not clear what Honda has planned for the new generation, but the Pilot, a large SUV last redesigned for 2023, should provide some clues. The Pilot is powered by a 285-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 and a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the same setup should be used in the Passport and Passport Trail Sport.
The Pilot has its own Trail Sport model with an off-road-tuned suspension, 1-inch higher ground clearance, steel skid plates, and all-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels. Similar upgrades should be available on the Passport Trail Sport.
