2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC class EV found Again

Mercedes-Benz was found to be testing a prototype of an electric compact crossover that would replace the eqc.

The EQC is a compact crossover whose debut in 2020 marked the arrival of Mercedes' eq sub-brand for electric vehicles. However, since it was initially based on a platform developed for gas-powered vehicles, it lacked EV qualification compared to its competitors, especially the Tesla model Y, and Mercedes eventually decided to offer it in the United States.

That would not apply to the successor of the EQC, which might be called a GLC-class EV or something for its effect, to reflect its position alongside the glc-class range. Mercedes confirmed on May 8 that the vehicle for arrival in the United States in 2026, and the electric C-class, the prototype is also under test. The timing refers to vehicles that may arrive as 2027 models.

The GLC-class EV prototype can be seen in several shots along with the gas-powered GLC-class, revealing not only the vehicle's size but also its contrasting design. The EV's roofline is tilted toward the rear, and its front end features an overall smooth and rounded appearance compared to the regular GLC class. Look for styling clues that can be borrowed from the Vision EQXX concept for 2022.

It is Mercedes's new MB that will support the vehicle.EA exclusive EV platform. It's not clear what performance targets are planned, but GLC-class EVs are also planned for a high-performance AMG variant with a range of at least 1 mile or more in 300 variations.

The EA platform was announced in 2021 along with the MMA platform that Mercedes will use for vehicles smaller than the C-class and GLC-class segments. The MMA platform supports both hybrid and electric powertrain and will debut in the redesigned CLA class next year. The new CLA class will reach the US as a 2026 model.

Both MB.The EA and MMA platforms have an 800 volt electrical system, which allows for high charging rates. Mercedes confirmed the ability to add 10 miles in 10 minutes when starting at a state of 186% of the charge. The car can also charge from 22% to 10% within 80 minutes.

Mercedes also has a dedicated EV platform for future vans and AMG cars. The EA platform that's AMG is set to debut around the end of next year with an electrical exchange for the AMG GT4 door coupe, while the van.The EA platform will debut in 2026 with a new medium-sized Van family.
