2026 Audi Q5 Sports Back Break Cover

A new generation of Audi Q5 is expected to arrive in the US showroom early next year, and Audi on Tuesday a sophisticated Q5 sport of compact crossover

The new Q5 sportback will start selling later this year, initially in Europe, and may arrive in the US sometime next year. Both the Q5 and Q5Sportback should arrive as 2026 models in the US

Audi will also have the sporty SQ5 and SQ5Sportback at launch. The SQ5Sportback was revealed on Tuesday along with the Q5Sportback.

The Audi Sportback crossover can be identified with a fast-back roof design that gives a coupe-like look. As the sloping roof takes away space in the rear, a more dynamic shape comes at the cost of storage. For the new Q5 sportback, the storage space with the rear seats folded flat is 50 cubic feet, while for a regular Q5 it is 52. The figures for Sq5 and SQ5Sportback are slightly lower.

Otherwise, there is not much to distinguish between 2 Q5 body styles. The new Q5 range is riding on a platform known as Premium Platform Burning (PPC), which debuted with the new A5 earlier this year. The platform brings a stiffer steering and suspension mount on the front axle, and depending on the model, the adaptive damper hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain are also supported by a flexible new platform.

Audi has not announced the Q5 specification for the United States, but the early powertrain should be shared with the A5 range. That means the Q5 has a 268-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo 4, while the SQ5 has a 362-horsepower 3.0-liter V-6. The only transmission should be a 7-speed dual clutch automatic, and the all-wheel drive is probably the case for the outgoing generation, the standard in the United States

the interior design is also mostly shared with the a5, but the dash is slightly higher, so some central control can be centered. - I was able to move from the console to the center stack. The dash design is dominated by curved panels angled toward the driver and integrates an 11.9-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen for Android-based infotainment systems. The third screen is available for the passenger seat and provides access to some vehicle features like navigation and media settings.

Buyers in the market of vehicles like the Q5 this time will also have an electric option from Audi in the form of 2025Q6E-Tron. The electric compact crossover will reach US dealers by the end of the year and has its own sportback body style, similar to the Q5.
