2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata marks the glorious roadster of 35 years

Mazda MX-5Miata will enter the 2025 model with relatively few changes, as the convertible sports car received an update just 1 year ago. The highlight of 2025 is the new Anniversary edition, which celebrates 35 years since the launch of the original NA Generation.

The MX-5Miata35th Anniversary edition stands out thanks to a unique artisan red exterior paint finish, coupled with a tan leather-lined interior. Other unique details will be revealed following the MX-35 cup race to coincide with the 2025 24 hours at Daytona next month, when the anniversary edition will be officially introduced on March 5.

Other lineups include sports, club and grand touring models. Sport is offered with a soft top roof only, and club and grand Touring models can install either a soft top or Mazda's RF retractable hard top forド2,720.

The 2025MX-5Miata is already available for order and delivery starts in early 2025. Prices start at Sport30, 515 for sports, Club34, 015 for clubs, and 3 35,815 for Grand touring. All numbers include destination rates of destination1,185. The price of the 35Th Anniversary edition has not been announced.

All 2025MX-5Miata models feature a rated 181-horsepower, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that powers the rear wheels. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual, but buyers of grand touring can opt for an additional paddle920 paddle shifter and a 6-speed automatic.

All models come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an 8.8-inch touchscreen display for infotainment, Amazon Alexa voice assistant, and integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone.

The upgrade to the Club will replace the standard 16-inch set with 17-inch wheels, plus Bill Stein dampers, front shock tower braces, asymmetric Limited Slip Differential, and nine-speaker Bose audio systems. Grand tour benefits from the same upgrade as the club while adding more comfort and safety features. These include standard leather seats, automatic dimming and heated side mirrors on the driver's side, adaptive headlights, and traffic sign recognition.

The current MX-5Miata, ND generation, is sold from the 2016 model. Mazda has suggested that the carmaker will feature some form of electrification for future generations, but the iconic SP concept revealed at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show, which shows how much current cars will stick around, suggests that Mazda will use a rotary engine that acts purely as a range extender. He stressed the possible direction of using an electric powertrain equipped with an electric power system. The car is scheduled for production, but it could be a big sports car similar to the successor to the RX-5Miata, rather than the next MX-8.
