Lucid's second vehicle, Gravity, will begin production in the United States
The first customer examples of Lucid's long-awaited Gravity SUV began rolling off the line on Thursday at the company's plant in Casa Grande, Arizona.
The start of gravity production is important for Lucid as it marks the entry of electric car startups into the hugely popular three-row midsize SUV segment
Lucid is struggling with the Air, which is its debut model, despite the stylish sedan offering some of the best specifications of EVs on the market. It will be. In 2024 Q3, the total air transport volume was only 2,781 units, an increase of more than 90% year-on-year.
Gravity should significantly boost Lucid's delivery. It will arrive as a 2025 model, and the first orderable version is the Gravity Grand Touring, priced from91,500 before the destination fee, which should be about 9994,900.The Gravity Touring model will be the next model to be launched in late 2025 and will carry a starting price ofstart79,900 before the destination.
Although not yet confirmed, the gravity pure model could be introduced at some point at even lower starting prices. Pure is an entry-level model of the air sedan, starting at669,900 and becoming a destination for the 2024 model. Gravity Grand Touring has 828 horsepower and a range estimated by the company to exceed 440 miles.
It is the highest range of any electric SUV.
Beyond gravity, Lucid is working on a compact crossover that will compete with the tesla Model Y.Scheduled for late 2026, Lucid suggests the starting price will be belowと50,000.
Lucid also has a factory in Saudi Arabia. The plant is initially used to build semi-knock-down (partially assembled) air cases at a rate of 5,000 units per year, but plans are made to expand the site later this year to handle full production of Lucid cars at a rate of 150,000 units per year. Gravity and future compact crossovers could also be built at the Saudi site.
