Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Kaiju, revealed to be a wild overlander.

Ineos of the UK continued to showcase the versatility of its Grenadier off-roader with the unveiling Wednesday of the Grenadier Quartermaster Kaiju, a wild overlander built to conquer the harsh Australian terrain.

The Grenadier Quartermaster is the pickup sibling of the Grenadier SUV, and the new Kaiju version, derived from the Japanese word for “monster” or “giant creature,” is a one-off special edition built after the popular Japanese brand of modified off-roaders in Australia It is a one-off special edition car.

Working with companies such as Norweld, Rhino-Rack, Brown Davis, REDARC, and STEDI, Ineos has an additional storage box, a long-range fuel tank increased to 44 gallons from the normal 24 gallons, and 16-level adjustable suspension, BFGoodrich KM3 Mud-Terrain tires, and other upgrades.

The vehicle is also equipped with REDARC's off-grid power and storage solutions, including an RS3 pure sine wave inverter, Alpha150 150A lithium battery, and a complete battery management system.

The regular Grenadier Quartermaster, available in the U.S. starting at $86,900, is powered by a turbocharged BMW 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder with 282 hp (diesel is also available in other markets). This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system with a center differential lock and two-speed transfer case. Also standard are LED headlights, Recaro seats, roof rails, and towing eyes front and rear.

Production of the Grenadier is currently on hiatus, likely due to a recent change in Recaro ownership, but is expected to resume in early 2025.

Ineos plans to launch more small-volume special editions. In August, the automaker said it plans to launch a more upscale version of the grenadier and focus on remaining an exclusive brand, which dealers have requested.
