Someone has converted a 1975 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman into a Maybach.

Long before the first Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Pullman made its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, someone had already commissioned Mercedes to build a Pullman for Maybach.

Shown here is a 1975 Mercedes 600 Pullman, modified by Mercedes' official classic car department to the specifications of the Maybach sedans sold at the time, namely the 57 and 62.

It was ordered by a German customer and is currently for sale by Dutch dealer Auto Leitner (via Autoblog). The asking price is €2.15 million, more than four times the standard specification. According to the announcement, the modifications took seven years from commissioning in 2007 to completion in 2014.

The modifications included new heated and cooled seats, a modern air conditioning system, satellite navigation, Bluetooth, a refrigerator and a DVD player to entertain passengers on long journeys.

The customer decided not to change the mechanicals so that the car would not lose its full vintage status. This is understandable considering that the car is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 M100 engine. Its output is around 250 horsepower, which is enough to accelerate the limousine from 0 to 60 mph in about 10 seconds.

Mercedes is almost ready to release the next generation S-Class. It is known that a Mercedes-Maybach version will be produced, but it is not yet clear if the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Pullman will be produced.
