Zenvo is introducing forged carbon fiber to its TSR-S hypercar.

Danish company Zenvo has unveiled an updated version of the TSR-S hypercar. In case you forgot, the TSR-S was introduced in 2018 as a new street version of the TSR race car, boasting 1,177 hp from a mid-mounted 5.8-liter flat-six V8 with 811 lb-ft of torque. The company also claims that the wild rear antifender, which tilts when cornering, increases internal tire downforce and aids cornering.

Zenvo's latest updates to the TSR-S include the use of forged carbon fiber in key components, including the wheels; compared to the traditional aluminum wheels used on the TSR-S, the new forged carbon fiber wheels are 33 kg lighter. As a personalized touch, all carbon visible on the car, including the wheels, can be painted.

Conventional carbon fiber is made by layering sheets of carbon fiber and wrapping them with cured resin, while in forged carbon, small pieces of carbon fiber mixed with resin are placed in a mold and cured under high pressure and heat. This manufacturing process, which has become common at Lamborghini, is faster and cheaper than the traditional carbon fiber process.

Another major upgrade in the latest Zenvo TSR-S is the transmission, which can switch between road and race settings. A seven-speed sequential transmission with direct gears, commonly referred to as a "dog box", is responsible for shifting gears. Compared to a conventional synchronous gearbox, the shift speed is faster, but shifting is more uncomfortable; in the Zenvo's transmission, the driver can choose between standard racing and road settings, where electronic assistance provides smoother shifts.

Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and 0 to 124 mph in 6.8 seconds. Top speed is limited to 202 miles per hour.

Prices for the TSR-S start at €1.45 million ($1.6 million), and since Zenvo cars are painstakingly assembled in quantities of only five per year, you may have to wait to get your hands on one.
