Jaguar is overhauling its model range in preparation for full electrification. Jaguar will introduce a new design theme this year, switching its flagship XJ model to battery power.

Existing models will also be affected by the new design theme, including the E-Pace, as evidenced by the camouflaged prototypes that have been spotted testing again.

The prototype appears to have a new front and rear fascia and new headlight internals. The taillights do not appear to have undergone any changes at this stage, but this may change in a more advanced prototype.

The interior may also be changed. There will likely be a new digital instrument cluster and a larger infotainment system screen.

Changes to the powertrain have not yet been reported, but the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque mild hybrid system is likely to be used. It is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with a belt-driven motor-generator. The motor-generator does not add power, but is used to assist the engine by recovering energy when braking or allowing you to coast by shutting down the engine to save fuel. The E-Pace is currently offered with a 2.0-liter turbo four with 246 hp and 296 hp available.

The E-Pace was introduced for the 2018 model year. An updated version is expected in late 2020 as a 2021 model. Stay tuned for updates as it is developed.
