Son of Gemballa founder creates supercar company

German company Gemballa, known for building the world's fastest Porsche, will soon begin testing its own supercar.

This is the wrong car.

Marc-Philippe Gemballa, son of Gembola founder Uwe Gemballa, has created a car company under his own name and will unveil his first product on March 4.

Marc-Philippe Gembola, or MPG for short, sees a niche for supercars catering to specific customer needs. For example, the first product will be a supercar for buyers who like to drive off-road. Judging by the teaser images the company released Tuesday, the car will resemble the famous Rothmans Porsche 959 that competed in the 1986 Dakar Rally.

We also know that major companies such as Michelin, KW Suspension and Akrapovic are involved in the project. German engineering company Vera Performance is also working with Ruf on the latest CTR.

No other details about the car have been released other than that it will be a limited edition.

Marc-Philippe Gemballa, only 26 years old, grew up around fast cars. Sadly, his father died at a young age, but now, ten years after that fateful day, he is following in his father's footsteps and starting his own car company.

Stay tuned.
