Lister has unveiled a new teaser of the modern Storm supercar, hinting at an electric version.

Historic British performance manufacturer Lister released a teaser sketch on Sunday of the successor to the 1990s Storm supercar.

The design appears to maintain the chunky, wedge-shaped silhouette of the original Storm. There are also similarities to another British electric supercar, the 1,973-horsepower Lotus Evilla.

Lister first hinted at a modern Storm in 2018 when it released a similar teaser sketch, but this time it also released a statement saying it was exploring the possibility of an electric powertrain.

The original Storm was a supercar presented by Lister's predecessor in 1993. Powered by a 7.0-liter V12 engine borrowed from the Jaguar XJR-9 prototype racing car, only 90 were built for public road use and a few more for endurance racing.

Today Lister was founded in 2014 and for the past several years has produced continuing versions of the famous Nobley racing cars. The company is also returning to Jaguar tuning, attempting to transform itself into the unofficial performance arm of Jaguar, much like Alpina is to BMW and AMG is to Mercedes-Benz.

Along with the modern Storm, Lister is also working on a modern Nobley. Unfortunately, it is not clear whether the company has actually come close to launching either model.
